In this article, we summarise the key business tax changes made by the Finance Act 2008, which received Royal Assent on 21 July 2008. These include wide-ranging reforms of capital gains tax, capital allowances, rates of tax and the taxation of non-domiciliaries which apply from April 2008 and significant changes to HMRC information powers which are likely to come into effect in April 2009.
