Hypertext provides a means of navigating round a document, or from document to document, by clicking on highlighted hyperlinks (www.practicallaw.com/A36260) (text or images). Most documents on the web (www.practicallaw.com/A37202) are written in HTML (www.practicallaw.com/A36259) (hypertext mark-up language) and hypertext therefore provides the main means of navigating around the web.
