Public procurement for high speed railways

On 12th February, 2002 the Antitrust Authority, approved a recommendation concerning the modification of the rules on public procurement, now pending before the Chamber of Deputies. The Authority warned the Parliament that the proposed modification of the law now in force on public procurement for the construction of High Speed Railways (TAV) would be contrary to EC law because it violated the obligation to tender for the execution of the works.
